Building Confidence in Teenagers

Amanda is a 14 year old girl with a long history of trauma from childhood. She was brought to see her primary care doctor because she was being bullied at school, which was causing a whole host of symptoms. She was referred and met with an HLN child psychiatrist. The sessions with the psychiatrist included changing her medications and therapy.

Amanda gained a significant amount of confidence and self-esteem in just over the months she was treated by the HLN psychiatrist.

Amanda responded well and was able to go back to school without her previous fears and feelings of anxiety. She learned skills to deal with the bullies at school and made new friends who became her support at school. She stopped being afraid to go to school. She told her psychiatrist that she now realized she was strong, beautiful and that words cannot hurt her anymore.
